  • Expertise in corporate and commercial matters spanning a range of industry sectors including finance, shipping, education, pharmaceutical, airline, IT and retail for both Australian and international groups
  • Sunil’s broad experience includes advising companies and leading brokers in various aspects of business including joint venture and venture capital arrangements, documentation of commercial contracts and arrangements, export and import due diligence processes, corporate governance and restructurings as well as regulatory issues and general commercial advice for firms entering Australia and the Indian sub continent
  • Extensive knowledge of cross-border investment policy and procedures in Australia and India including advising on the tax-effective structuring of private equity investments and advising on international tax implications.

  • Before establishing Kaden Boriss in Australia, Sunil led the insurance department of a leading national law firm
  • During his professional career, Sunil has worked in an in-house role with an international company in risk management, where he developed a deep knowledge of all facets of liability and business strategy
  • A true market leader; in the early 1990s, Sunil pioneered strategies to reduce the liabilities of claims for insurers. The outcome of this approach changed the landscape of how insurers considered long-term claims, bringing them significant financial savings in the process
  • Sunil regularly presents at conferences and seminars in Australia and throughout the Asia region, including being the Australian Government’s guest speaker on Corporate Governance to delegates in China. In addition he has provided evidence under parliamentary privilege in relation to bilateral trade opportunities between Australia and India.
