Brent Yap leads the firm’s cross-border, corporate, and real-estate practices, advising on commercial law, investment structuring, property acquisition, and immigration-by-investment programs.

Based between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur, Brent also serves as Legal Advisor to the Malaysian Business Council UAE, registered under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, and with Malaysia’s national association, The Electronic and Electrical Association of Malaysia (TEEAM). He also acts as OF Counsel with Nasser Yousuf Al Khamis Law Firm and Kaden Boriss Dubai (UAE) and as International Partner with Win Long Guangdong Law Firm  (China).

His current portfolio includes advising on China-Malaysia and UAE-Malaysia transactions, and assisting corporate clients to obtain trade finance, corporate finance, project finance and export credit finance..

Brent has represented his firm at international platforms including the Belt & Road Summits (2017 & 2018) hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and The China Conference 2018 by the South China Morning Post. He is known as a thought leader and has continuously been invited to deliver talks on various topics including legal compliance and financing at workshops and seminars organised in Dubai, China and Malaysia.

He continues to champion Malaysia’s role as a bridge for investment between Asia, the Gulf, and the West.
